David Mamet Teaches Dramatic Writing

Learning from the best has never looked better. While David Mamet's lessons may or may not reveal the secrets to winning a Pulitzer, the rough sawn set we constructed for this shoot definitely deservers a prize.

 

The Interview

We built and dressed the modular set for The Interview by combining different elements to create a unique, highly versatile set.

 

Lights Out

We're experts getting the most bump in the night for your buck. Tasked with building and dressing a replica set the 2016 horror film for YouTube, we nailed making home sets that can turn creepy with little more than a lighting change.

 

Wildling

Wildling is an independent horror movie that we worked on with Production Designer Mary Lena Colston. A large part of the film is set in an attic, which we built in conjunction with the set designer.

 

Prevention Inc.

For this film, directed by Alexander Shaoul, we fabricated all the sets including (in order of appearance) the lower level entrance and hallways, the Prevention Inc. lobby, both the receptionist office and Demoon's office, and the Octagon. 

 

I Sell The Dead

We built the 15 ft. guillotine used to threaten grave robber Arthur Blake (Dominic Monaghan) in the feature film, I Sell the Dead.

 

Fame Juice

We designed and built the set for the short film, Fame Juice, directed by Royal Young.

 

PB & J

This miniature factory was designed and built for the short film, PB & J.

 

HBO: The Final Shot - A Farewell to Boardwalk Empire

We built the ferris wheel-style lights in the background of HBO's finale promo for the TV series Boardwalk Empire.

 

The Confession

We constructed the fire escape, as well as the confessional booth where a hit man's (Kiefer Sutherland) confession to a sin of murder leads to a thought-provoking conversation with a priest (John Hurt).

Our brick wall flats added another notch of sophistication to HBO's interview with John Leguizamo for his documentary Tales from a Ghetto Klown,

TLC: Cake Boss

We built a 17 foot three-layered cake for the TLC reality show Cake Boss. We also painted the walls of Carlo's Bakery - the bakery in NYC made famous by the TV series.
